Families Together Therapeutic Preschool
Families Together Therapeutic Preschool works with children to build social, emotional and life-skills competence through a relationship based and child-focused early intervention program.
The program includes:
- Therapeutic Preschool - Half day classes three times a week and provides enrichment activities in all developmental areas. Transportation and meals are included.
- Family Support - Home visits to the family by the teaching staff and family worker provide support to meet basic needs, parent education, and family enrichment activities
- Therapy - Speech and language, occupational, physical and mental health therapy is available on-site to children as needed.
The Families Together Program applies current research on effective intervention for highly stressed young children. Therapeutic preschools have been shown to be effective tools in helping children build positive relationships with trusting adults that then lead to later school success. Therapeutic preschools can also promote development of more positive parent child relationships.
Families Together receives funding from the United Way, private foundations and community partnerships, the Federal Child and Adult Care Food Program. Families Together collaborates with the St. Paul's Schools Readiness Program and Ramsey County Child Protection to identify and fund services for children and families who can benefit from program participation. Individual families do not pay for services.
