Nioakie, Employment & Economic Opportunity

Nioakie came to Lifetrack Resources because she wanted to find better employment so that she could move off welfare and find housing for her and her son.

Nioakie was referred to the Customer Service Training program after completing an internship with Lifetrack’s Transition Work Experience.  During the training, Nioakie dramatically improved both her communication skills and her ability to handle difficult customer situations. She maintained perfect attendance and scored at the top of her class.

When the hiring manager for Doubtree by Hilton came to class to conduct mock interviews, Nioakie demonstrated her new skills, networked, and made a lasting impression.

After graduation from the program, a position opened up at the Doubletree. Nioakie used the interview skills she learned in training to land the job. She is now responsible for Doubletree’s employee cafeteria and constantly uses her new skills to make the cafeteria feel like a restaurant.

At her 90 day review Nioakie earned a raise and continues to awarded new responsibilities. Because of her stellar performance she was nominated for the Doubletree’s Diamond of the Month award an internal award for outstanding employees. Part of her nomination noted that, “It has been so nice and refreshing to have Nioakie working in the cafeteria. Not only does she do a great job of keeping it clean and stocked but she is always so nice, pleasant, and helpful. She strives to do her best always and truly cares about the job she does.”

Nioakie is a role model for other trainees and is inspiring others with her success by guest speaking for the current Customer Service Training courses.
